Holdener Park

Livermore, CA 94550

It’s always a good idea to get outside and enjoy the beautiful California sunshine. Whether you’re looking for an escape from your busy work life or just want to spend some time with nature, Holdener Park in Livermore is the perfect place to go. There are so many things that make this park great – not only does it have a large variety of trees, flowers, shrubs, and other plants but it also has four ponds stocked with fish and other aquatic animals.

Here at Holdener Park, you can enjoy bird watching (especially during the migratory season) as well as hiking on one of the many trails available. You could even take your dog along for some fresh air! So whether you need a break from the city or want to spend quality time with your family and friends, Holdener Park in Livermore is a great place to go.

It is recommended to walk down the trail that goes south of Dreyer Pond because it seems to be a crowd favorite. The path takes you through some narrow ravines where the vegetation grows densely on either side. You’ll also be able to see some fascinating rock formations as well as an old pipe tunnel before coming out at another intersection near Westridge Avenue.

You could feel yourself getting lost among all of nature’s beauty – but then would always find your way back! A few other things worth mentioning about the park are that it is dog friendly and offers both picnic tables and barbecues. Going to this park is beneficial because of the following:

  • Get exercise and connect with nature when you walk the trail
  • Preserve a beautiful plant forest by taking this route
  • You can see some fascinating rock formations and an old pipe tunnel on your way through the ravines
  • Stay on track while feeling lost among all of nature’s beauty

The trails are easy to follow. You can see the Livermore Wine Country from some vantage points, and there is also a beautiful plant forest by taking this route. The whole park probably only offers about a mile of hikes. Kids over about three could do some walking in this park. There is also a house right next to the park that has a bunch of goats, and they have set up a dispenser so that you can buy pellets to feed the goats; bicyclists sometimes stop at it too–the kids would enjoy seeing that aspect for sure! Following the trails, you’ll be able to enjoy the following:
